The Brief:

Diem Chocolates approached us with one clear goal — to design a chocolate box that not only holds their pure, handcrafted chocolates but also elevates the unboxing experience. Alongside, they were preparing to launch their new product line – Almon Barks, a rich blend of premium almonds and dark chocolate – which also needed a distinctive identity through packaging.

Project 1

The Process

Phase 1: Crafting the Chocolate Box

We began with multiple structural mockups and die-cut samples, each tailored to suit the size and shape of Diem’s assorted chocolates. The aim was clear: combine form with functionality without compromising the luxury appeal.

After reviewing several prototypes with the client—from minimal tones to luxe different types of finishes—the final pick was a vibrant, elegant box that reflected the richness of the chocolates inside. We also showcased box mockups across shelf setups and exhibition displays, allowing the client to visualize real-world appeal.

Result? A box that now proudly houses their signature collection—bold in look, premium in feel.

Phase 2: The Almon Barks Journey

To begin, we studied the shape, texture, and presentation of Almon Barks closely. We designed various layout cuts and packaging styles that brought attention to the product’s visual story — chunky, indulgent, and artisanal.

After rounds of prototyping, we landed on an idea: why not design a pack that combines the three almond variations into one cohesive visual unit? The result was a unified design that merged three flavors into a single packaging language, ensuring brand recall while standing out on shelves.

Key Takeaways

Packaging is not just about wrapping — it’s about creating a moment of pause, indulgence, and brand memory. For Diem, we didn't just design boxes — we designed experiences.
